Volunteers of America
Client Profile
Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, and faith based organization that provides various human service programs throughout Colorado. Their focus is on vulnerable groups such as at-risk youth, elderly, low-income families, and the homeless.
Project Description
Six years of planning come to a head this year with the groundbreaking of the Volunteers of America Early Childhood Education center. Positioned in one of the city’s most poverty stricken neighborhoods, this new child education center tore down a local liquor store to replace the space with an educational center. After outgrowing their current location (a church gymnasium) the new childhood education facility is predominately for preschool children at or below the poverty level. It has 5 classrooms and offers education for up to 170 students.
