Chocolate or vanilla? Thank God they invented the twist.
What is your favorite historical building or archeological site? The Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. I was intrigued by the architecture. The passage through the city by boat was a wonderful way to see the sights. It rained a lot in November, remember that if you plan to go there - no wonder the city is under water.
What are your awesome skills? I can take anything apart, fix it, and put it back together - don’t tell my wife! Who is your favorite artist? My great-grandfather. I have two of his oil paintings in my house. My favorite was found by my grandmother in an art gallery in Jackson Hole. She recognized the art (her husband Eugene’s father, my great-grandfather Thor, or J.C. as they called him) and purchased it. It was in her house when I was about ten years old, above her dining table. When she died it was willed to my mother. It’s now in my house and is my pride and joy.
What is your most treasured belonging? My garden rock collection. My wife and I love to hike and I love to fish. Every trip I try to find a rock to add to my garden. I have round ones, flat ones, and one square one. I know where each of them came from.
What was your best summer vacation? Fishing all summer in Montana my third year of college. I had a framing job lined up, but to get the job I first had to rebuild the engine on my 1950 pickup truck. The engine work took longer than expected and I lost out on the job. So instead, I fished all day, every day. Best summer I ever had. My truck’s name was Florence, but that’s another story...
